Sortino: 35-year-old arrested for domestic abuse, violence even in front of children.

I Carabinieri of the Sortino Station they arrested a 35enne, in execution of aorder for the application of precautionary measures issued by Court of Syracuse.

The man, with criminal record for crimes relating to weapons, drugs and against the person and property, is held responsible for mistreatment towards the ex-partner a 38 year old from Sortino, also in the presence of minor children of the woman.

From investigations conducted by Carabinieri, following the complaint filed by the victim and coordinated by the Prosecutor of the Republic of Syracuse, it emerged that, from the 2020 al 2023, during the cohabitation, the man would have harassed, insulted and attacked his partner with daily violence.

In particular, in one episode for jealousy, the man would have them took away her phone, beating her until she lost consciousness, in front of the children. One of the children, who had filmed the violence, it would have been threatened with death from the father.

After a period of absence from Sortino, the man, who returned to the village last October, would have attempted to reconnect with the ex, first with persistent messages, then with miners video, up to attack her under her house threatening her with a gun.

The arrested person is not new to similar episodes: already in 2018 he had been arrested for abuse in the family towards a previous partner, a peer originally from the province of Messina.

It is now located at the “Cavadonna” prison in Syracuse.
