Syracuse: The 32 new city councilors have been proclaimed.
Since Wednesday 11 July I have been in full of their functions i 32 city councilors of the five-year period 2023-2028 elected as a result of the administrative session of 28 and 29 May and 11 and 12 June. In the morning, in fact, the president of the Central Election Commission, the magistrate Liborio Mazziotta (secretary Santino Boncoraggio), in the DINING councilor "Elio Vittorini” (on the fourth floor of Palazzo Vermexio), has read the proclamation formula calling each of the elected representatives for notification of the document. There were 23 present; the others will receive a copy of the report at home.
La ceremony took place at presence of the general secretary of the Municipality, Danila Costa and vice mayor Edy Bandiera (Mayor Francesco Italia was absent for health reasons). The Commission worked for 41 days and recently completed the final procedural steps. Now there are 15 days to convene the first meeting of the city council during which, between the various points the order will be elected president of the assembly.

From vice mayor Bandiera, who is also councilor for relations with the city council, the best wishes for good work in carrying out the «noble and important prerogatives» of the assize. «Thus – he added – the institutional framework of the city is completed, a fundamental fact because without the city council there was a deficit of democracy and political confrontation».
