La State Police ha 35-year-old man arrested recipient of a detention order. On the run for about a year, was hiding in a artfully created lair, connected to another apartment available to a family member, thus being able to move around easily and communicate with a closed-circuit intercom system in order to make communications uninterceptable, believing this would guarantee a peaceful hiding place.

The man, Lentinese, born in 1990, was surprised and arrested, following a targeted investigative activity carried out by police officers from the Lentini Police Station, who had noticed suspicious movements in the apartments where the man had secured family and environmental coverage.

The police were looking for him because there was a charge against him detention order, issued by the Attorney General's Office at the Court of Appeal of Catania, having to do the same serve a sentence of 9 years, 3 months and 29 days in prison for some robberies perpetrated against the elderly after the thirty-five year old had done raid on their homes.

In the course of a careful house search, the agents discovered that the fugitive's hideout was well equipped with numerous computer equipment which served, in addition to defending themselves from unwelcome visits by the police (video surveillance system, intercom to communicate between different apartments without being intercepted), also to cheer up the stay at home during the fugitive period (smart TVs and video game consoles). The most significant discovery, from an investigative point of view, it was when the men from the police station found, well hidden inside a fake wall:

  • 2 Kalashnikov (with six magazines),

  • 2 semi-automatic pistols,

  • 1 revolver,

  • 1 air gun,

  • 1 12 gauge pump-action shotgun,

  • 100 6.35 gauge cartridges,

  • 8 cartridges 377 magnum,

  • 329 cartridges of various calibers.

More are underway investigative insights aimed at establishing whether there was a network of supporters that they assured him of a quiet hiding place up to today and how it was obtained and what use such a thing could have been quantity of weapons seized to the arrested person.
