Siracusa, kidnapping for extortion. The perpetrators arrested

Restrictive measures against nine people, four of whom are minors, held responsible for the crimes of kidnapping for the purpose of extortion and aggravated possession and carrying of a firearm in competition.

Events that occurred in Scicli (RG) on 20 June 2024 and continued in the city of Syracuse until the raid of the Special Intervention Group of the Carabinieri for the liberation of the 19-year-old hostage.

Given the seriousness of the crimes, all the suspects were ordered to be held in prison.

The investigation is conducted by the Operational Unit of the Carabinieri Company of Modica, supported by the Investigative Departments of the Provincial Commands of Ragusa and Siracusa, as well as three canine units, with the coordination of the District Anti-Mafia Prosecutor's Office and the Prosecutor's Office for Minors of Catania.
