Vicenza: 87th Giro del Veneto, Wednesday 16 October a great day of sport and entertainment

Wednesday October 16 It will be a day of great sport and great entertainment for the City of Vicenza. After the departure from Verona and then 178 km between the streets of Verona, Padua and Vicenza, the Giro del Veneto will arrive at Mount Berico and here the winner of the cycling classic par excellence will be decreed, which has returned to flourish in 2021 thanks to the organization of Filippo Pozzato's PP Sport Events.

The route – Starting from Piazza Bra are expected 160 professional runners, which will then pass through towards Cologna Veneta, Lonigo, Monte del Roccolo, Vo' di Brendola and Valmarana, before entering (around the 14.45) in the final circuit of Vicenza along 15.1 km that will come repeated five times through St. Augustine, Viale Fusinato and Viale X Giugno, where the finish line will be (the race will end at 16.30 approximately) where thousands of spectators are expected.

From the 10 17 it won't be possible transit in viale Dante and viale Dieci Giugno (between viale Dante and piazzale della Vittoria). The planned diversions will be in via della Commenda and in viale Risorgimento Nazionale or viale Fusinato.

Between one race and the next, after the last cyclist has passed, residents of the Ferrovieri neighborhood (east side of Viale Sant'Agostino and Via Vaccari) will be able to exit from Via Toti towards Via Vaccari, Via Rossi, Via De' Ferreti, Viale Verona, depending on the progress of the race. Exiting from Via Rossi and Vicolo dei Campesani will be possible with the establishment of two-way traffic on Via Ferreto de' Ferreti and only in the direction of Viale Verona.

Local public transport –

From the 13.30 17.15 SVT buses on lines 4, 12 and 14 Circolare and bus routes will also undergo changes, as well as extra-urban lines.

The last departure of line 4 will be at 13.18 from Valmarana and at 13.10 from Viale Ferrarin; they will resume the regular route without deviations at 17.24 and 17.10 respectively.

During the race, all stops on Viale Venezia, Fusinato, Maganza, Vaccari, S. Agostino will be suspended.

Line 12 will be regular until 13.30:XNUMX p.m., then it will undergo deviations. The stops of via Ferreti, S. Agostino, via dell'Industria, via della Meccanica, del Lavoro will be suspended until the end of the race.

Line 14 will run regularly until 13.30:XNUMX p.m., then there will be deviations. The stops at via dell'Industria, S. Agostino, Vaccari will be suspended during the race.

The closure of Viale Dieci Giugno will affect the E06 line journeys which will be diverted or suspended.

Schools

Several schools, from preschools to high schools, have decided to change their timetables in view of road closures or diversions to public transport during the passage of the race. Each decision has already been communicated to families and students by the individual Directorates.
