Too much Sabalenka for Jasmine
The race of Jasmin Paolini at the Miami Open 2025 ends in the semifinals. The Italian, protagonist of a brilliant tournament, surrendered to the strength of the world number one, Aryna Sabalenka, who closed the match with a dry 6-2 6-2 in just over an hour of play. The Belarusian put in a practically perfect performance, dominating in every aspect of the game. On the other side, a combative Paolini, who tried to stay in the match with courage and great shots, but without ever managing to truly stem the power of her opponent. Sabalenka scored 31 winners (against Paolini's 19) and served with 78% of first serves in the court. A technical and mental dominance that led her to her first final at the Miami Open, the second consecutive in a WTA 1000 tournament after Indian Wells, where she had surrendered to Mirra Andreeva.
Jasmine was therefore unable to reach the final act of the tournament, but remains the only Italian tennis player to have reached the semifinals at the Miami Open.
Sabalenka will return to the court on Saturday 29 March to play for the title against the winner of the second semifinal between Jessica pegula and surprise Alexandra Eala
