Milano: the new edition of “Run For Inclusion” is presented, the non-competitive race that celebrates the uniqueness of each individual and the importance of the values of inclusion.
It took place this morning at the Alessi Hall of Palazzo Marino the official presentation of Run For Inclusion 2024, the non-competitive race sponsored by the Municipality of Milano and conceived by Uniting Group, which celebrates the uniqueness of each individual and the importance of the values of inclusion, sustainability and outdoor sports.
The initiative, after last year's edition which involved over 15 thousand people, will return on the weekend of September 21st and 22nd in the heart of Milano. Two days full of events, with the inauguration at 14pm on Saturday 21st of the “Village Run For Inclusion”, which will also enliven the Arco della Pace this year thanks to numerous initiatives.
The departure of Run is instead scheduled for 10am on Sunday 22nd September, always at the Arch of Peace of Milano.
Even this year Participants will receive a special race bib, customizable with your own message and symbol of freedom of expression and the values that characterize the event. Also confirmed is the one-of-a-kind 7.24km trail, a distance that represents the promise of a constant commitment to the issues of inclusion and sustainability, 7 days a week, 7 hours a day.
"Milano confirms its position at the forefront of the fight against all types of discrimination – declared the Sports Councillor Martina Riva –. After the success of the past editions we are happy to host Run for Inclusion in the streets of our city again this year. It is a sporting event that has become a symbol of the values of inclusion, sustainability, respect for diversity and which every year allows us to reflect on the importance of lifestyles and sporting activities”.
“Organizing an event like Run For Inclusion for the third consecutive year represents a source of pride for Uniting Group and a truly valuable achievement. It means having won the greatest challenge, that of having kept the attention high on fundamental values such as inclusion and sustainability and having done so consistently over the last three years, thus raising awareness among an ever-increasing number of people – says Nicola Corricelli, Chief Culture & New Business Officer of Uniting Group –. We are talking about essential pillars to shape our future and concrete actions are increasingly necessary from each of us. In this sense, to demonstrate our commitment to the founding values of the event, this year we have decided to concretely support the projects of our partner non-profit associations, donating to them the entire proceeds from online registrations and a fixed fee for each Running Crew".
Less than two weeks from the event, many have already decided to embrace the initiative, such as the Italian singer-songwriter, presenter and activist Jo Squillo, always close to these values and official godmother of the event.
The presence of some of the most important Italian non-profit associations has been confirmed: AGPD – Association of Parents and People with Down Syndrome, AISM – Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association, Auser Milano, Fondazione Libellula, Pane Quotidiano, Sport Senza Frontiere, Still I Rise and UICI – Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired Milano.
A large area inside the “Village” will be dedicated to them, where interactive workshops will be organised for adults, children and teenagers.
The two-day event will also see many initiatives promoted by the brand partners, shows curated by the Festival delle Abilità featuring the Brigata Brighella and the dance company Uguamente Artisti and a pre-Run workout curated by DoFit.
Furthermore, on the evening of September 21st, the Arco della Pace square will come alive with Music For Inclusion Let's Jam by Open Stage: a big party open to everyone, to have fun and dance together to the rhythm of the music of emerging bands and young singers.
The initiative will be, also for this year, Presented by RDS 100% Great Successes and supported by a Media Partnership with the Hearst Italia Group, with the magazines Runner's World, Men's Health and Cosmopolitan.
