Attached to the Police Operational Mentoring and Liaison Team of Farah (Afghanistan), as part of the ISAF mission, in an environmental context characterized by persistent and very high risk of a terrorist nature, he dedicated each personal resource to carry out the assigned task, engaging with tireless enthusiasm and intimate conviction in mentoring and assistance activities in favor of the local police.
During an escort service to a military convoy, ordered following a previous terrorist attack on other Italian Army vehicles in that same area, the armored vehicle in which he was traveling as a machine gunner, it overturned several times.
