Serie A: Como and Udinese win, Monza-Lecce draw.

The first three games on Sunday saw Como win 0-2 at Fiorentina; Monza draw 0-0 at Lecce; and Udinese win 3-0 at home against Empoli.

Fiorentina-Como 0-2

In the first half, the first chance comes after just fifteen seconds with Zaniolo who sends it high with his left foot. In the 5th minute, Zaniolo tries again, this time he hits the target, but Butez blocks it. Viola are still dangerous in the 15th minute with Fagioli, but Butez is still alert. Como makes its presence felt in the 21st minute with Diao who finishes with his left foot, forcing De Gea to save it in the corner. In the 41st minute, the match is unlocked with Diao; the winger skips past two Fiorentina defenders at speed and makes it 0-1 in front of De Gea. 

In the second half at 61' Fagioli saves the Viola with a great tackle on Da Cunha ready to finish on goal. At 66' Como doubles the score with Nico Paz; the Argentine unleashes a great left-footed shot where De Gea can do nothing. After a few minutes the Spanish goalkeeper saves the home team from Diao's conclusion. In the 73rd minute Goldaniga tries a header from a corner kick but fails to find the target. The Viola try with Folorunsho's header, but Butez easily saves. It ends 0-2.

The second consecutive defeat arrives for Palladino's team that remains at 42 points; the new moves from the winter market, at the moment, have not yet had an impact.

Great move by Fabregas' team that gets three fundamental points to overcome Verona and to join Cagliari and Lecce at 25 points. The salvation objective for the Lariani seems possible thanks to the talent of Nico Paz and the speed of Diao, who are uncatchable if on their day. 

 

Monza-Lecce 0-0

The first half begins immediately with the guests hitting the woodwork; Helgason kicks a powerful free kick from 30 meters that hits the crossbar. In the 26th minute Lecce is dangerous again with Pierotti; the winger anticipates everyone, but heads it high. Krstovic tries in the 32nd minute, hitting a right-footed shot on Helgason's suggestion, but Turati is good at blocking it. Monza wastes the only opportunity in the 38th minute with Pereira who from an excellent position hits a bad rebound and doesn't hit the target.

Second half with few chances and very slow pace. In the 71st minute Falcone makes a great save on Caprari's curling shot from the edge of the area. After a few minutes Helgason responds by shooting from inside the area, but finds Turati's save. In the 85th minute Pierotti receives the ball on the right and shoots hard at the near post, but once again Turati is alert and saves the red and whites. Ends 0-0.

Nesta's adventure begins with a draw; still too little to lift Monza, last with 14 points.

Giampaolo's team wastes a great opportunity to extend their lead in the standings and is caught up by Como with 25 points.

 

Udinese-Empoli 3-0

In the first half, the first chance came from Lorenzo Lucca, who volleyed a cross from Atta, but it went high. In the 12th minute, Kouamé wasted a great opportunity, shooting just over from a good position. In the 18th minute, Udinese came close to taking the lead; Lovric unleashed a powerful left-footed shot from the edge of the area that forced Silvestri to work a miracle. After a minute, the home team took the lead; Ekkelenkamp he is good at fooling Silvestri by deflecting Atta's shot into the net for 1-0. In the 20th minute Empoli tries again with Kouamé who, one-on-one with Sava, shoots centrally. The home team comes close to doubling their lead in the 37th minute with Bijol, following a corner, but the Juventus centre-back fails to find the shot from two steps away.

In the second half, the Bianconeri were once again close to scoring; De Sciglio miraculously saved from Atta who was finishing into an empty net. In the 54th minute for the guests, Maleh failed to head the ball home from a very close position. In the 59th minute, a ball arrived in the Empoli area that Lucca controlled and kicked, hitting the post. After a few minutes, Sava denied the Tuscans a draw with a double super save, first on Colombo, then on Gyasi. In the 65th minute, the 2-0 was scored once again by Ekkelenkamp, good at putting Silvestri's save on Lucca's previous shot back into the net. Udinese closed the match in the 90th minute with an imperious header from Thauvin from the center of the area that scores. It ends 3-0.

Another great performance for Runjaić's team who maintain their tenth place with 33 points.

D'Aversa's team wastes many opportunities, especially with Kouamé, remaining stuck at 21 points. While waiting for Parma's result, Empoli remains in a very delicate situation, only +1 on the relegation zone.
