Serie A: victories for Torino and Bologna, draw between Genoa and Empoli.
In the first three games of this Sunday, victories came for Torino and Bologna. The Granata won 0-2 on the field of Monza, while the Rossoblù won 2-1 in a comeback against Cagliari. The match between Genoa and Empoli ended in a 1-1 draw.
Monza-Turin 0-2
In the first half, for the guests, Casadei tries in the 6th minute from a tight angle with the ball ending just wide. In the 18th minute, a great opportunity for Monza with Keita's shot from the edge that grazes the post. Bologna-Cagliari 2-1
In the first half Calabria immediately tries in the 3rd minute with a shot from outside that grazes the post to the left of Caprile. In the 16th minute Bologna again with Erlic who just misses the target with his header. In the 22nd minute Little ones receives from Augello and heads it past Skorupski for 0-1. The home team tries to react; in the 25th minute Orsolini kicks wide from outside the area and in the 31st minute Dominguez also fails to hit the target from distance.
In the second half, just two minutes pass, when Felici knocks down Cambiaghi in the penalty area. The referee awards the penalty kick to Bologna. The penalty spot is taken by Ursu who doesn't miss and makes it 1-1. In the 54th minute Castro tries to take the lead with a shot from the center of the area, but Caprile sends it to the corner. A minute later Zappa inadvertently deflects towards his own goal and Caprile miraculously saves Cagliari. In the 56th minute the Emilian lead arrives; Ursu he scores on Cambiaghi's cross and makes it 2-1. The guests try to equalise, but Bologna manages the result very well and takes home the three points. It ends 2-1.
Italiano's team won with a comeback thanks to an excellent second half and now fourth place is just two points away, awaiting the Juventus match.
Nicola's team remains on 25 points, just three points behind third-last place.
Genoa - Empoli 1-1
In the first half the first chance comes in the 15th minute with Gyasi who kicks high from a good position. A first half very fragmented by continuous fouls and with a very slow pace. In the 36th minute Fat collects Leali's rebound and scores with his right foot to make it 0-1.
In the second half the dynamics of the game do not change. The first opportunity is always for the guests with Esposito who in the 60th minute finds himself one-on-one with Leali, but Vasquez saves with a slide. In the 71st minute Cacace sends a good free kick from the edge of the area just over the bar. Genoa makes its presence felt in the 76th minute with Cornet who shoots high from an excellent position. After a few minutes the equaliser arrives with Vasquez who heads the ball into the net following a corner kick. It ends 1-1.
Vieira's team climbs to 31 points in the standings and is getting ever closer to mathematical safety.
D'Aversa's team gets only one point and fails to overtake Parma who remains at +1. The Azzurri remain third from bottom with 22 points.
