Match report

The third day of the 2024/2025 Serie A championship offered great entertainment and matches full of emotion.

Lazio-Milan 2-2

On this day, Lazio and Milan faced each other in an intense and dramatic match at the Stadio Olimpico, which ended in a 2-2 draw. Milan, led by Paulo Fonseca, took the lead in the first half thanks to a well-constructed goal, maintaining control of the match until the restart. However, Marco Baroni's Lazio turned the result around in a few minutes, scoring two goals between the 62nd and 66th minute, taking the score to 1-2 thanks to a choral action that surprised the Rossoneri defense. In a moment of difficulty, Fonseca decided to change the tactical set-up by inserting Theo Hernandez, Leao, and former Roma player Abraham. The move proved to be a winning one when the Rossoneri's number 10, Rafael Leao, scored the equalizer. Despite the positive result, the match left some tension in the Milan camp, with Leao and Hernandez visibly isolated from the rest of the team during the cooling break. Milan gets an important point, but remains in a crisis situation with only 2 points after three games, while Lazio rises to 4 points.

Napoli-Parma 2-1

In parallel, at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, Antonio Conte's Napoli experienced a dramatic match against Parma, which ended 2-1 for the Neapolitans. The match had started badly for Napoli, with Parma taking the lead in the first half thanks to a penalty converted by Bonny. Napoli fought hard to find the equalizer, but the decisive opportunity came only after the expulsion of Parma goalkeeper Suzuki, when the Emilian team had already used up their substitutions. In an emergency situation, defender Delprato was forced to defend Parma's goal. In this context, the entrance onto the field of Romelu Lukaku proved decisive: the Belgian center forward scored the equalizer by taking advantage of the chaos in the area. In the final minutes of injury time, Anguissa scored the goal for the final 2-1, completing a daring comeback that made the Neapolitan fans explode with joy. This victory allows Napoli to obtain three precious points and to remain in the upper areas of the standings.

Bologna-Empoli1-1

In the afternoon, Bologna and Empoli played a balanced match, which ended 1-1 at the Dall'Ara. The match was characterized by an initial back-and-forth, with both teams able to find the goal and create a good chance each in the first half. In the second half, Bologna tried to take control of the match, but Empoli resisted well. The draw seems to reflect the course of the match, in which neither team was able to clearly prevail over the other. A point that allows both teams to move up the standings, but without any significant highlights.

Lecce-Cagliari 1-0

Finally, Lecce achieved a hard-fought and valuable victory against Cagliari at the Via del Mare, with a score of 1-0. The Giallorossi team played the entire second half with ten men due to a red card, but managed to defend their lead thanks to a goal by Krstovic, who scored his first goal of the season. Curiously, the same player had scored the last goal of last season, exactly 118 days ago, against Cagliari. Lecce, despite the difficulties, showed great character and determination in protecting the result. Davide Nicola's team, on the other hand, had several opportunities to equalize, even hitting the crossbar twice, but in the end had to surrender. This defeat leaves Cagliari with only 2 points in the standings before the international break.

Overall, the third day of Serie A 2024/2025 has provided exciting matches and results that significantly impact the standings and morale of the teams involved. Many clubs, especially Milan and Cagliari, will have to work hard to find the path to victory and improve their positions in the upcoming days.

Serie A, Terza Giornata: Lazio-Milan 2-2 con Pareggio di Leao, Napoli Rimonta il Parma 2-1, Bologna-Empoli 1-1 e Vittoria Sofferta del Lecce sul Cagliari 1-0.
