Serie A 2024/2025: Juve and Roma draw, Udinese beats Como. Analysis of the third day.
The third day of Serie A 2024/2025 offered two very different matches in terms of emotions and results.
Juventus – Roma : 0-0
Juventus-Roma, the long-awaited big match, ended in a goalless draw. At the Stadium in Turin, Thiago Motta and Daniele De Rossi's teams faced each other cautiously, creating few significant chances. Juventus, despite their territorial dominance and Dusan Vlahovic's attempt to break the deadlock, were unable to fully exploit the home advantage. Roma also had a single chance with Pellegrini, but the final result of 0-0 reflects the lack of incisiveness on both sides. With this draw, the Bianconeri remain unbeaten and have drawn level with Inter, Torino and Udinese on 7 points, but have missed the opportunity to take sole control of the standings. For De Rossi, this point is still a relief after the home defeat against Empoli the previous day.
Udinese – Como : 1-0
Unlike the match in Turin, Udinese-Como was a livelier encounter, full of twists and turns. The Friulians managed to secure a narrow 1-0 victory, thanks to a goal by Brenner at the end of the first half. Como had the opportunity to equalize in injury time with a penalty, but Patrick Cutrone missed, effectively giving the three points to Udinese. This victory allows the Friulians to remain in the upper areas of the standings together with Juventus, Inter and Torino, all on 7 points.
With the international break coming up, this break represents a crucial opportunity for coaches to review tactics and strategies and to best integrate the new signings of the transfer market that has just concluded. Serie A will resume in mid-September, ready to offer new emotions and surprises to the fans.
