Serie A: Gimenez gifts victory to Milan.

Serie A Saturday ends with Milan's 1-0 home win over Verona. The Rossoneri continue their race for a Champions League spot, while the Gialloblu must watch their backs to avoid relegation.

Verona started off strong in the first half and after two minutes they got to the conclusion with Duda who forced Maignan to concede a corner. The first shot for Milan came in the 25th minute with Reijnders who tried from outside the area, but Montipò saved. After a few minutes, Joao Felix was dangerous with a cross-shot that forced Montipò to take refuge in a corner. In the first half's injury time, Musah also tried but, precariously balanced, didn't hit well from a good position and sent the ball out.

In the second half the game remained blocked and the first attempt came in the 60th minute with a shot by Fofana that ended up high. In the 67th minute Leao tried to shoot on goal, but Diasse stopped it and deflected it into a corner. Milan took the lead in the 75th minute with Santiago Jimenez; the Mexican heads the ball in on Leao's assist. Verona tries to attack in the final stages, but without ever creating any danger for the Rossoneri. It ends 1-0 at San Siro.

Conceicao's team takes the win and moves to just five points away from fourth place. Great start for Santiago Gimenez who scored his second goal in his second appearance in Serie A.

Verona who cannot find points and remains only +3 above the relegation zone while waiting for the other results.
