Serie A: Cagliari-Genoa ends in a draw.

The twenty-eighth day of Serie A opens with a 1-1 draw between Cagliari and Genoa. The Sardinians continue to hope for salvation, while the Ligurians seem almost certain of it.

Cagliari-Genoa 1-1

The first half was unlocked after four minutes, but Piccoli's goal was disallowed by VAR for offside. Cagliari were still dangerous in the 15th minute with Coman who hit the post with a nice free kick. Three minutes later the home team took the deserved lead; Piccoli served Viola who controls and scores behind Leali. Genoa only makes its presence felt in the last minute with Ekhator who sends the ball wide from a good position.

In the second half the guests immediately equalised the score; in the 47th minute Cornet puts Ekuban's cross into the net. In the 59th minute, Grifone also has the chance to take the lead, but De Winter sends it sensationally high from two steps away. In the final minutes, Cagliari moves forward in search of a goal. In the 81st minute, Prati tries from distance, but his conclusion ends up high. It ends 1-1.

Nicola's team gets a point and extends its lead to +4 on the relegation zone while waiting for the other results.

For Vieira's team, however, the salvation issue seems to be a formality. The rossoblù are in fact +10 from the third-last.
