U21 European Championship qualifiers: The Azzurrini scored four goals against Montenegro and consolidated their second place.
The Italy Under-21 team closed out 2025 with a victory in the 2027 U21 European Championship qualifiers. In Niksic, the Azzurrini handed out a convincing 4-1 victory to Montenegro, posting a spirited comeback after a difficult start and consolidating second place in the group, three points behind Poland.

In Montenegro, the match began under pouring rain and with Italy in a subdued mood. After Miranović hit the crossbar with a powerful long-range shot, the home team took the lead at the end of the first half thanks to an individual play by Mrvaljevic, who surprised the Azzurri defense and made it 1-0. The Azzurrini's response, however, was immediate. Just five minutes later, a confused move in the penalty area, stemming from a corner kick, pisilli finds the shot that brings the score back to equilibrium before half-time.
In the second half Baldini's team took full control of the game and in the 60th minute the overtaking took place, signed by Dagasso, good at getting in and beating the opposing goalkeeper to make it 2-1. Montenegro feels the blow and the Azzurrini run riot. In the 64th minute, camarda who first scores the 1-3 and then provides the assist to Fini for the '1-4 final.
With this victory, Italy salt to 15 points in the group, remaining just three points behind the leaders Poland, which has since overtaken Macedonia.
