Serie A: victories for Roma, Cagliari and Lazio.
The first three games on Sunday saw Roma win by a narrow 0-1 away to Venezia, Cagliari win 2-1 at home in the relegation clash against Parma and finally Lazio overwhelm Monza 5-1.
Venice-Rome 0-1
In the first half, the Giallorossi made their presence felt right away in the 6th minute with Paulo Dybala, but his shot from inside the area was saved by Radu. In the 16th minute, the guests tried again, this time with Dovbyk, but once again Radu blocked the shot. Venezia responded in the 21st minute, when Yeboah shot from a corner, but Svilar was attentive and blocked the ball. Venezia has the chance to equalise in the 86th minute with Maric who is anticipated by Mancini and fails to finish on goal. It ends 0-1.
Venezia increasingly in crisis, second to last at 16 points; the fight to stay in Serie A becomes increasingly complicated.
Ranieri's team gets their eighth consecutive positive result and keeps their hopes alive for the race for Europe.
Cagliari-Parma 2-1
In the first half, the first chance goes to Parma, with Bernabè sending a nice free kick just wide. Nicola's team gets three golden points in the key to salvation. The Sardinians detach Empoli, Como, Verona and reach Lecce at 24 points.
Pecchia's team loses its third game in a row and remains third to last with 20 points. If Parma wants to keep its salvation hopes alive, it must absolutely reverse course.
Lazio-Monza 5-1
