In the first half, the first shot on goal was by Pinamonti who headed in a corner kick in the 10th minute, but without worrying Radu. In the second half Genoa was dangerous in the 52nd minute, when Bani's conclusion following a corner kick ended out. In the 56th minute Pinamonti unleashed a great right-footed volley and Radu responded with a nice save. For the Verdeoro Perez was once again the most dangerous, but as in the first half, he kicked high from a good position. In the 79th minute Ekuban sowed the seeds of two opponents and reached a conclusion that ended just wide. The goal that gave the Rossoblu the lead came in the 82nd minute with Pinamonti; the striker receives the ball from Ekuban on the left and with a curling right-footed shot makes it 1-0. Four minutes pass and Genoa doubles their lead; Cornet scores his first goal with a powerful shot on the second assist of the match by Ekuban. Finishes 2-0.
Very important victory for Vieira's team that overcomes Torino and moves to 30 points in the standings. Genoa is +10 on the relegation zone and can feel more confident.
Venezia cannot feel safe at all; Di Francesco's team loses its third consecutive match and remains at 16 points. The only positive side is that Parma and Empoli also lost and the safety zone remains five points away.
