Serie A: Modrić leads Milan, and Atalanta scores four goals. Roma and Lazio lose, and Udinese finishes second.
Serie A's third matchday produced few goals, but plenty of excitement. The only match with more than one goal was Atalanta vs. Lecce, with the Goddess winning 4-1. Udinese surprised everyone with a 1-0 win in Pisa, moving into second place with seven points. Roma and Lazio both lost 1-0, against Torino and Sassuolo respectively, ahead of next week's Derby della Capitale. AC Milan also posted the same result, beating Bologna thanks to Modrić's first goal for the Rossoneri.
Rome-Turin 0-1

Atalanta secured their first win of the season, defeating Lecce with four goals in Bergamo. Juric's team, without Scamacca and Lookman, relied on Scalvini and De Ketelaere to secure the three points.
The start is favorable to the Goddess, who takes the lead in the 20th minute with Scalvini, good at heading in Zalewski's cross. Sassuolo earned their first three points of the season by defeating Lazio in a very close match. The Biancocelesti suffered their second consecutive defeat and remain on three points in the standings, joined by the Neroverdi.
The first half was not very exciting, with Pinamonti's only chance well controlled by Provedel. The game was only unlocked in the 70th minute when, following a corner, Muharemovic headed in a pass, turning the move into an assist for fadera, which he deflects into the net with his thigh from close range.
Lazio's response came late. Zaccagni tried to make his presence felt, and Gila came close to equalizing with two headers, the second of which grazed the crossbar. Sassuolo won, while Sarri's team faced a crucial derby against Roma.
