Italy U21 loses against Holland.
At the Penzo in Venice, the friendly between Italy and Holland U21 ends 1-2. The Azzurri, after having found the equaliser with Esposito, are mocked in the last minute by Bruns' goal. With the defeat archived, CT Nunziata's boys are preparing for the other friendly test on Monday against Denmark.
Italy-Holland U21 1-2
In the first half, the first shot for the Azzurrini is by Koleosho in the 10th minute, but Oduro saves. In the 14th minute, Gnonto also tries, but once again the visiting goalkeeper blocks. Holland takes the lead with the first real chance of the match. Poku serves Fitz Jim who scores with a shot from the center of the area for 0-1. In the 23rd minute, Manhoef immediately tries to double the score, but Desplanches blocks it. In the 36th minute, Miretti frees Gnonto with a backheel, who from an excellent position sends it just wide. In the 43rd minute, Baldanzi also comes close to equalizing with a powerful shot from inside the area, but Oduro makes a great save.
During the interval, Gnonto and goalkeeper Desplanches were out due to injury, with Esposito and Zacchi taking their places.
In the second half Italy started off strong with Sebastiano esposito who scored from a penalty kick in the 54th minute to make it 1-1. In the 61st minute, Holland was reduced to ten men after Banzuzi was sent off for a bad foul on Baldanzi. Two minutes later, Ndour tried a shot from the edge of the area, but Oduro blocked it on the ground. In the 81st minute, Esposito spun around in the penalty area, but his shot was deflected and grazed the post. In the 88th minute, Miretti served Doumbia who from a few steps out wasted a great opportunity. In the final minutes, the Oranje were reduced to nine men after Bogarde was sent off. Holland sensationally took the lead in the very last action thanks to a goal by Brown. Finish 1-2.
A real mockery for Italy who had dominated the second half. Nunziata's boys create a lot, but do not capitalize. A good test in view of the European Championships, in which, however, it will not be acceptable to concede a goal in the last second with 11 against 9.
