2nd Silvio Berlusconi Trophy, Pier Silvio Berlusconi: “The affection of the fans and Italians is beautiful and remains within us”.

The 2nd Silvio Berlusconi Trophy, an atmosphere full of emotion and memories, with a match between Milan and Monza at San Siro, in homage to Silvio Berlusconi, former president of both clubs. PYesterday Silvio Berlusconi, CEO of Mediaset, expressed gratitude for the affection of the fans, underlining the importance of the values ​​of sport transmitted by his grandfather Luigi to his father, and by the latter to him. A moment to celebrate these values ​​and to honor the memory of Berlusconi senior.

Pier Silvio Berlusconi: «For me and for us this evening is truly emotional. It is an evening dedicated to the memory of my father but it is also an evening of passion and affection. The closeness of the Milan fans, the Monza fans and the Italians is something that warms our hearts and that we never take for granted. It is truly something beautiful that stays within us. I'm glad to hear it - continues Pier Silvio – remembering that before the Silvio Berlusconi Trophy there was the Luigi Berlusconi Trophy that my father had founded for his, for my grandfather and this certainly makes my father happy to also remember my grandfather. The values ​​of sport handed down from my grandfather to my father and from my father to me and I hope to my children are positive and fundamental values. Loyalty, commitment and respect are values ​​that my father cared about a lot and through sport I think that my father managed to pass them on to many, especially young people."

Before the start of the match, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alessandro Nesta, both linked to Berlusconi through their time at Milan, shared their memories and thanks for what the former president meant to their careers. Ibrahimovic fondly remembered the positive impact Berlusconi had on him, while Nesta expressed his emotion at returning to San Siro, thanking Berlusconi for the emotions he experienced with Milan.

The evening saw the presentation of new AC Milan signings such as Morata, Pavlovic, and Emerson Royal, with great enthusiasm from the fans. The two teams faced each other in what is a dress rehearsal for the start of the championship, with Milan fielding a team led by new coach Paulo Fonseca and Monza, led by Nesta. The event attracted around 50.000 spectators, a significant turnout considering the summer period.

The Silvio Berlusconi Trophy, which replaced the previous Luigi Berlusconi Trophy founded by Silvio in honor of his father, therefore represents not only an important sporting event, but also a moment of reflection on the values ​​and passion transmitted through generations of the Berlusconi family.
