MotoGP, Argentine Grand Prix race: Bezzecchi wins, Zarco 2nd and Alex Marquez 3rd.
On the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, in Argentina, a land of passion, sport, world champions, number 1s, the second MotoGP weekend ends with the race, the moment that all the riders are waiting for to give their best , in the pouring rain, where sensitivity is the key to making the difference. Alex Marquez starts first followed by Bezzecchi and Bagnaia. The engines are hot, the bikes ready to scream and the riders with their visors lowered concentrating on not making mistakes. When the traffic lights went out Bezzecchi found himself in the lead followed by Alex Marquez, Bagnaia and Morbidelli. Rider number 72 of the Mooney VR46 team tries to escape, while Binder falls at the back and Quartararo finds himself in last position thanks to a contact with Nakagami. Fabio Di Giannantonio did well in the initial stages of the race, finding himself fifth and going very fast on the wet asphalt. Bezzecchi pushes hard, rides very well and tries to free himself from Marquez, Bagnaia and Morbidelli, but it's not easy. Miller makes a comeback from sixteenth position and with 19 laps to go he finds himself seventh ahead of Zarco, Martin, Espargarò, Marini and Vinales. The 2 Aprilia riders struggled a lot and Augusto Fernandez on GasGas took advantage of this to close in, followed by Fabio Quartararo. The tussle between Di Giannantonio and Rins for fifth place was very good with overtaking and counter-overtaking, while Bezzechi went like a missile in front, bringing his lead to 2 seconds with 16 laps to go and then increasing it in the following laps. On the sixteenth lap Bagnaia overtakes Marquez in an incredible way, as only a being from another planet can do, and targets Bezzecchi who however is in a solitary escape in hyperspace with over 5 seconds left. With eight laps to go, Bagnaia crashes at turn 13 due to a front end closure and throws away important points, in the meantime Quartararo is making a comeback and finds himself sixth. Marco Bezzecchi is truly a violin, he plays a unique, perfect symphony, like true champions, like Messi and Maradona when they touch the ball, while his teammate Marini overtakes Rins for eighth place with 4 laps to go. Zarco turns very fast and with 3 laps to go the race overtakes Morbidelli to move into third. Marco Bezzecchi dances in the sinuous curves of Argentina and earns a dream, his first victory in MotoGP, releasing his curls in the air and entering the world of the greats. “Bez” wins ahead of Zarco and Alex Marquez. 4th Morbidelli and 7th Quartararo.
Valentino Rossi's team produced some great talent and in Argentina the number 72 behaved like the number 10s in football, very classy, effective and the strongest. The next race will be in Austin in America on April 30th.
