Oristano: The Giudicato Half Marathon, a sporting and social event.

Sunday February 26 you run to Oristano the ninth edition of the Giudicato Half Marathon, which attracts athletes from all over the world Sardinia and from various Italian regions, with the aim of supporting the provincial section of Lilt. The event includes two competitive races: 1st Memorial Gianni Murgia, the 21st and 10th kilometres, as well as a fitwalking test and a 4,5 kilometer walk. We start and arrive in via Duomo, retracing the tradition of the star race during the Sartiglia, and the start will be at 9.30 am. You can also register on Sunday morning, from 8 to 9 at Palazzo Arcais.

The president of Dinamica Sardinia Roberto Sassu presents the new route which promises a leaner and faster challenge, while the Mayor of Oristano, Massimiliano Sanna, declares himself happy to resume the city's sporting tradition after the pandemic. The race boasts the patronage of the Sardinia Region and the support of important sponsors such as Crai and L'Orto di Eleonora, Vestis is a sponsoring partner.

“There will be many athletes who will meet in Oristano on Sunday for the Giudicato Half Marathon – declared the president of Dinamica Sardegna Roberto Sassu -. We have designed a new route for them, decidedly more streamlined than the previous one and suitable for faster cross-country and middle-distance runners."

“Oristano finds the half marathon again in its classic location, immediately after the Sartiglia – adds the Mayor of Oristano, Massimiliano Sanna -. After the years of the pandemic and the many restrictions that have affected everyone's lives, we are taking back our habits and rediscovering the events that are dearest to us. In recent days we have witnessed an extraordinary Sartiglia which provided a spectacle for tens of thousands of spectators and next Sunday we are certain that the Half Marathon will be able to achieve similar success".

“There are many top-level athletes who will participate in the 21 kilometers – commented the provincial president of Fidal Giuseppe Stara -. Among the men stand out Mustafa Belghiti, a Lombard of Moroccan origins, and Antonino Lollo, a Sicilian policeman-marathon runner but resident in Lombardy, Italian marathon champion in 2021. Without forgetting the three-time champion of the Giudicato Half Marathon Oualid Abdelkader and the twenty-two-year-old Federico Ortu . Massimiliano Serra from the Runners from Oristano will also be there”. “Among women – concluded Stara -, I want to mention Elisabetta Orrù. In the 10 kilometre, however, Mario Lagana and Giuseppe Mura from Samugheo confirmed their presence and, for the women, Giulia Innocenti and the Runners' Elisa Cau from Oristano".
