Lignano Sabbiadoro, on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th will host the "CIS: Italian Skateboard Championship 2024 - Street Discipline" at the Viale Europa skatepark.

Skateboarding is back to being a protagonist in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The Lignano Sabbiadoro skatepark was in fact chosen as the only location for the "CIS: Italian Skateboard Championship 2024 - Street Discipline".
The competition, organized by “Asd Thankyouskateboarding”, will be held next 24-25 August at the Skatepark in Viale Europa, in the famous Friulian seaside resort.

It will be an opportunity to see the young regional promises at work again who will compete for the podium with athletes from other Italian regions.

Unlike in the past, from this year, having participated in the regional skateboarding championship is a fundamental requirement to be able to access the national competition and in our region there were many athletes who did not want to miss this opportunity and challenged each other between May and July in the 3 local championship stages held in Lignano Sabbiadoro (Ud), Udine and Codroipo (Ud).

The FVG Skateboard Championship ended on 6 July in Codroipo and on that occasion the 2024 regional champions of the Street discipline were proclaimed.

in the category junior men the gold went to Thomas Bortignon, silver a Emil Bianchi, while Angelo Sinatra won the bronze medal. In the category junior females the podium went to Chloe Zanusso followed by Emma Stocco, while she placed third Marie Hermine Krassnig.

For the category Women's open, before Lara Bidin, Followed by Arianna Drigo and in third place Aurora Cumin. The category Open men was conquered by Diego Nardini, Followed by Federico Mazzucchielli e Simone Domi.

Finally, in the category Male master Stefano Schiesari was awarded first place, second Matteo Bognolo and third Alessandro Coppola.

Returning to the national championship stage next weekend, activities will begin as early as Friday 23 August, a day on which it will be possible to access the park for Free Skate accompanied by the DJ set by Simongus. On the same day, Food & Drink kiosks selling local products will also be set up, which will be present for the entire weekend, stands of technical products and a Finger skate park where, in parallel with the competition, the Italian Fingerboarding Championship will be held.

Friday evening all skaters will be able to participate in the "Game of Skate" and the "Best Trick" competing for material prizes and a final cash prize of 300 euros.

On Saturday 24 August, however, the competition will get to the heart of the competition with the qualifying phases and semi-finals of the different competition categories for athletes registered with the Fisr and already previously accredited.

At the end of the day the party will continue with the “Death Race” a moment open to all, with material prizes and a 200 euro voucher.

Sunday will be dedicated to the Finals and awards ceremonies of the different competition categories, with the proclamation of the national skateboarding champions in the Street discipline for 2024.

It will also be an opportunity to find out who will represent Italy at the World Skateboard Championships at the "World Skate Games" in fact the first three classified athletes of the men's and women's Open category will have the opportunity to compete with the best skaters in the world from 7 to 13 September in Rome.

The latest innovation this year is the establishment of “Best Rookie Awards”, a special prize offered by Londinese, designed for talented young people who stood out for their creativity and ability during the competition days, regardless of the points and placement obtained, which will allow a young participant to be rewarded who has stood out for his talent and determination.
