La Milano-Sanremo 2025 will remain etched in the hearts of cycling fans and sports in general. The most spectacular of the modern era, perhaps the most unforgettable ever.

The race

It was him, Mathieu, who triumphed once again. Van Der Poel. For the second time, after 2023, the Dutchman won thanks to a devastating sprint at 300 meters, without ever looking back. Van Der Poel preceded two giants: a Filippo Gana monumental and a Tadej pogacar tireless, both protagonists of a great battle.

Pogacar attacked forcefully with 24 kilometers to go, aided by his teammate Narvaez. Only Van Der Poel and Ganna managed to follow him. From then on, it was a three-way battle. Pogacar tried several times to break away and leave the others behind, but Van Der Poel always responded. Ganna lost ground on the climbs, but was excellent on the descent: he bravely took the curves and managed to come back in the finale. In the final meters, Van Der Poel found the right moment to take off. Ganna tried to come back, but he didn't make it. Pogacar, tired from his previous efforts, finished in third place.

It was an emotional finish, with three riders giving their all.
