European Swimming Championships: Italy wins gold with a world record in the 4x50 medley freestyle.

Italian swimming continues to shine at the European Short Course Championships, turning the relay races into a veritable domination. The evening was tinged with gold thanks to the extraordinary victory in the 4x50 medley freestyle, which also included a world record.

The protagonists of the enterprise

The new venture bears the signature of the quartet composed of Deplano, Zazzeri, Di Peter e Curtis, who completed the relay in 1:27.26, bettering the world record and leaving the crowd breathless. An explosive start, pinpoint passing, and a final acceleration gave Italy a clear victory, giving them a clear advantage over their pursuers. Hungary and the Netherlands also made it to the podium, finishing second and third respectively, but were forced to surrender to the might of the Italians.

Star relays

The 4x50 freestyle mixed wasn't the only highlight of the day. The Italians confirmed their supremacy in the other relays as well.

In fact, it is no less Men's 4x50 freestyle, in which the Italians confirmed their explosiveness and finished ahead of everyone with a performance of great solidity and intensity. Once again, the depth of the Italian movement and the athletes' ability to excel in teamwork made the difference.

A precious silver medal closes the circle in the Women's 4x50 freestyle, where the girls fought until the last stroke for the title, coming close to winning gold and still confirming a very high technical level.
