Cagliari, a massive marijuana plantation discovered in Monastir: six arrests, over 9.000 plants seized.

I Carabinieri of the Quartu Sant'Elena Company, with the support of the Helicopter Squadron Hunters "Sardegna" and of the military of the Dolianova Company, they performed a complex operational intervention which led to thesix people arrested in flagrante, aged between 21 and 42, held responsible for the production and possession of narcotic substances.

The operation is the result of a targeted investigative activity started by Carabinieri of the Sestu Station, suspicious of the behavior of a person already known for previous crimes related to cultivation of marijuanaThe military, after days of shadowing and observation, located in rural territory of Monastir aagricultural area transformed into a real drug industry, managed with efficiency and professionalism.

After a prolonged observation service, the Carabinieri intervened catching the subjects in the act, while they irrigated and worked the plants. They were approximately 9.000 marijuana plants seized, 90 kilograms of inflorescences and buds, of which 11 are already packaged, 6 kilograms of chopped leaves, 2,5 kilograms of “kief” e numerous equipments for cultivation and drying. During the searches, one of those arrested was found in possession of 1,88 kilograms of inflorescences of marijuana.

The entire area — consisting of seven greenhouses - was subjected to seizure, while investigations are underway to determine ownership. Those arrested, after the usual formalities, were transferred to the Uta prison, at the disposal of theJudicial authorityThe operation confirms the effectiveness of the monitoring and prevention of the Carabinieri on the territory, as part of the activities of fight against drug production and distribution in the province of Cagliari.
