Livigno: Health Centre strengthened in view of the 2026 Olympics.

Agreement signed to strengthen the Casa della Sanità in Livigno, with new advanced services and a 24/7 First Aid Point, to guarantee high-level assistance during and after the Olympics.

Livigno: Health Centre strengthened in view of the 2026 Olympics.

La Livigno Health Centre will be enhanced in view of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games Milano-Cortina 2026. Thanks to an agreement signed today at the Municipality of Livigno, the health facility will offer high-level services for the entire Upper Valtellina.

The agreement, signed in the presence of the regional Welfare councillor Guido Bertolaso and the general director of the Welfare Department of the Lombardy Region Mario Melazzini, involves the Municipality of Livigno, ASST Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Niguarda, ASST Valtellina e Alto Lario and the Mountain Health Protection Agency.

The project aims at Strengthen health infrastructure and services, not only to respond to the extraordinary needs of the Olympic event, but also to leave a modern and functional healthcare facility for the citizens of Livigno.

Enhanced services

At the end of the Olympics, the Casa della Sanità in Livigno will become a permanent reference point with:

  • First Aid Point (PPI) operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Outpatient clinics active 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
  • Advanced Diagnostics: MRI, CT, X-ray and ultrasound clinic.
  • Ortho-traumatology and cardiology unit, managed by ASST Niguarda.

Scheduled interventions

In view of the Olympics, important improvements will be made:

 

  • Olympic Emergency Area with temporary housing modules of 300 m2026 operational from the beginning of XNUMX.
  • Hot chamber expansion for more efficient relief efforts.
  • New radiological diagnostics department on the -2 floor, with MRI, 128-slice CT, X-ray and ultrasound clinic.
  • Policlinico Olimpico Outpatient Clinics on the +1 floor, dedicated to ortho-traumatology and cardiology services during the Games, and subsequently transformed into permanent clinics.
  • Guesthouses for healthcare workers, thanks to the renovation of the attic.

Il concession contract between the Municipality of Livigno and ASST Niguarda provides for the start of experimental activities 15 March 2025, to test and optimize the new organizational model in view of the Olympic event.
