Sondrio: extraordinary checks by the State Police and warning for domestic violence.

La State Police of Sondrio led, in the days January 31, February 1 and 2, an important one extraordinary control operation of the territory throughout the province. The activity involved the Police Headquarters Mobile Squad staff and the Crime Prevention Department of Milano, with targeted interventions in urban centres of Sondrio, Tirano and Bormio and in the surrounding areas.

The checks, arranged by the Police Chief of the Province of Sondrio, have affected the busiest roads and public places reported for critical issues regarding public order and safety. They have been subjected to checks 11 commercial establishments, among which 4 premises with video lottery and betting.

During the operation the following were checked:

• Over 50 vehicles
• More than 200 people, Of which 32 with police records

Domestic Violence Warning

As part of the preventive activities for the combating gender and domestic violence, State Police of Sondrio issued a personal prevention measure against a 49 year old man, resident in the province.

According to the investigations, the man was responsible, over the years, for numerous incidents of domestic violence towards the wife and minor son, often the target of insults and intimidation.

Among the documented violent behaviors:

• Destruction of wife's phone
• Serious psychological humiliation
• Forced wife to kneel down to pick up shards of broken vase during temper tantrum

The information activity carried out by the Anti-Crime Division of the State Police and the operational activity conducted by the Carabinieri They provided the necessary elements to the Police Chief of Sondrio to issue the formal warning, calling man to a civil and respectful behavior towards the family.

The warning is a preventive measure which aims to interrupt violent behavior before they degenerate further, reminding the individual of the legal and criminal consequences of any relapses.
