Sicily: 58 million euros for the job placement of women.

Around 58 million euros for the employment of women in disadvantaged situations and victims of violence. TheRegional Department of Labour has published the announcement “Women's Employment”, pursuant to the program ESF+ 2021-2027, which provides for a contribution paid to temporary associations or businesses for interventions aimed at encouraging the introduction of women into the job market.

The measures include:

  • Specialist orientation,
  • Targeted training (language and IT certification and work safety certificate),
  • Internships,
  • Support for setting up a business o job placement.

«This initiative, strongly supported by the Schifani government, is a significant step towards improving the working conditions of women in Sicily – declares the councilor Nuccia Albano -. By promoting women's employment, the aim is to create an environment where women can not only find work, but also build a more secure and independent life. We also provide the women victims of violence another tool to free oneself from cases of domestic abuse. A concrete help for those who want to take back control of their lives, also keeping their children safe".

The call is intended for women between 18 and 56 years old, unemployed and not occupied; women included (or who have completed) the path of support to exit the condition of victim of violence and identified through the procedure activated by the Anti-violence centers.

Among the necessary requirements are:

  • Be residents or domiciled in the regional territory for at least six months at the time of publication of the notice;
  • To be in possession of Italian citizenship or be women non-EU citizens;
  • Be registered at an employment centre of the Sicilian Region.

An initiative that aims to build a more secure and independent future for women who find themselves in difficult and disadvantaged situations, demonstrating the concrete commitment of the Sicily Region in promoting thegender equality and work inclusion.
