Sicily, a room in the sports department named after Totò Schillaci: a tribute to a champion.

The Sicilian Region will name the meeting room of the Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment in via Notarbartolo, Palermo, in memory of Totò Schillaci, who died prematurely.

The initiative, undertaken by councilor Elvira Amata and shared by the president of the Region Renato Schifani, will allow us to pay homage to the Palermo soccer champion with a ceremony that will be organized in the coming days.

«It is a duty – states President Schifani – perpetuate the memory of one of our fellow countrymen who, thanks to his goals, made Italians dream. His life and career have shown everyone that talent, tenacity and the desire for redemption allow you to achieve seemingly impossible goals. Remembering Totò Schillaci means offering a model of humility and perseverance to new generations».

«I felt the need to name the meeting room of the department in memory of the champion Totò Schillaci – adds councilor Amata – because I am certain that this initiative will be able to contribute to making the memory ever more alive in a context, such as that represented by our institution, which has ownership of the skills in sports matters».
