Polling stations are open for the first round of municipal elections in Sicily and Sardinia
The polls are open from 7am for the run-offs in 41 municipalities, and for the first round of the municipal elections in Sicily and Sardinia.
The ballot boxes will remain open until 23pm and will reopen on Monday, from 7am to 15pm.
The total voters involved in the ballots are 1.340.688. One of the two candidates will be voted in 7 capitals: Vicenza, Massa, Pisa, Siena, Terni, Ancona, Brindisi.
We also vote for the first round in 128 Sicilian municipalities, including Trapani, Syracuse, Ragusa and Catania. The ballot is scheduled for Sunday 11th and Monday 12th June. Similar calendar in Sardinia, where voters will go to the polls for the first round of the municipal elections in 39 centres.
A Vicenza the challenge is between Giacomo Possamai (centre-left), which obtained 46,23% in the first round and Francis Rucco (centre-right), which stopped at 44,06%.
A Sponge they face each other Francesco Persiani (35,28% in the first round) for the center-right e Enzo Ricci (30,05%), centre-left candidate.
Pisa is disputed between Michael Conti (49,96%, centre-right) e Paul Martinelli (41,12%, supported by the centre-left and also Cinquestelle).
A Siena the runoff will be between Nicoletta Fabio, supported by the center-right (30,51%) e Anna Ferretti, candidate of the centre-left (28,75%).
A Terni it's neck and neck between Orlando Masselli (centre-right, 35,81%) e Stefano Bandecchi, supported by Alternativa Popolare (28,14%); the coalition with the Democratic Party and that of the 5 Star Movement remained out of the second round.
They compete in Ancona Ida Simonella (41,28%) of the center-left e Daniel Silvetti (45,11%) from the centre-right.
A Toast, finally, the runoff will be between Roberto Fusco (32,73%) of the center-left e Giuseppe Marchionna (44,22%) from the centre-right.
In Trentino Alto Adige the first round took place on 21 May in three municipalities: Campo Tures (Bz), Bresimo and Lona-Lases (Tn). None of the three will go to the run-off, which was scheduled for Sunday 4 June. In Campo Tures and Bresimo the mayor was elected in the first round, while in Lona-Lases the 50% quorum necessary for the election of the candidate presented by a single list was not reached. We will therefore vote in a year.
In Valle d'Aosta the first round of voting was held on 21 May only in Valtournenche, where he had already been elected mayor. So, no runoff.
Finally, in Molise, on Sunday 25th and Monday 26th June there will be voting to elect the president of the Region.
