Students from 15 music high schools are bringing music and dance to Sicilian hospitals with the project "Musically Together... Notes of Life."

From December 3rd to 22nd, concerts and performances will take place in the island's hospitals to improve patient well-being and highlight the educational role of music.

Students from 15 music high schools are bringing music and dance to Sicilian hospitals with the project "Musically Together... Notes of Life."

Music and dance enter the wards of Sicilian hospitals to offer moments of relief and serenity to patients, their families and healthcare staff.

This is the spirit of “Musically together… notes of life”, the project carried out by Network of musical high schools on the Island, That the 3 to 22 December 2025 will give life to 25 concerts in hospital facilities in all provinces, including pediatric ones.

The initiative – launched last May – was financed with 65 thousand euros byRegional Department of Education and Vocational Training, and is the result of the collaboration between Regional school office, Department of Education e Department of Health.

The goal is twofold: improve the quality of life in hospital environments at the same time enhance music as an educational, therapeutic and inclusive tool.

A rich program: 25 concerts in 20 days

The first appointment will be on 3th December, at 11 am, with the Don Giovanni Colletto Music High School in Corleone, who will perform in the child neuropsychiatry department of theGiovanni Di Cristina Pediatric Hospital in Palermo.

The next day it will be the turn of Felice Bisazza Music High School of Messina, which will bring music to the hospital Fogliani of Milazzo.

The concerts will take place in areas specifically identified to allow maximum participation of patients and healthcare workers, transforming hospitals into more welcoming and livable care spaces, especially in view of the Christmas holidays.

A new development: art high schools donate works to hospitals

For this second phase of the project, the participation of some is also foreseen art high schools, who will carry out works and projects from donate to hospitals, thus expanding the cultural and social value of the initiative.

The regional councilor for education Mimmo Turano He emphasizes the human and educational value of the project: "Music is therapy; it alleviates pain and can bring joy where there is suffering. Allowing young people to perform in places of care has enormous educational value and allows our young talents to grow artistically and personally."

The councilor for health Daniela Faraoni highlights the initiative's positive impact on hospital wards: "The project brings the therapeutic power of music to hospitals, offering patients moments of psychological relief. It's also a valuable opportunity for healthcare workers, who share a moment of humanity and lightheartedness with patients."

The director of the USR Sicily Luca Gatani He emphasizes the school's educational role: "These performances demonstrate the pedagogical value of music and contribute to the formation of informed and sensitive citizens. The concerts enrich learning paths and enhance the artistic identity of the island's music high schools."
