Rimini: Police intensifies checks, a foreign citizen arrested

The joint territorial control and general prevention services coordinated by the Police Headquarters continue in order to strengthen the action of fight against widespread illegality, with particular reference to the area of ​​the historic centre, the railway station and the seafront of Rimini.

During the joint checks between the police forces, attention was focused in particular on places potentially frequented by criminals, identifying approximately 150 people. Among these, the Police Headquarters staff decided to subject a group of six particularly suspicious individuals to scrutiny.

From the investigation it emerged that one of these, a Romanian citizen, was already known to the police forces, regarding numerous crimes committed such as: exploitation and aiding and abetting prostitution of his partner, demanding sums of money from her deriving from the prostitution activity; mistreatment against family members, as for some time she humiliated, threatened and beat her partner, causing her anxiety; personal injury and robbery.

For these crimes, the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Rimini had issued a detention order. Therefore, he was accompanied to the police station and, subsequently, transferred to the Rimini prison to serve a sentence of three years and three months of imprisonment.
