Rimini: State Police in the field against scams targeting the elderly

The State Police participated in the digital inclusion project aimed at the elderly to raise awareness and support them in digitalisation, promoted by the Federconsumatori association of Rimini, in order to make the elderly population and the most fragile subjects aware of the risks associated with the use of IT tools, developing awareness and promoting autonomy in the use of digital devices.

The topic of the use of digital technologies saw the active participation of all those present, mainly people over the age of 64., that, often representing single-person households, they use the Internet to reduce distances, accessing services also to improve interpersonal relationships.

The State Police also has, stressed the need to raise awareness among the younger population as well for effective protection of that group of people most exposed to the phenomenon, helping them to adopt risk prevention behaviors.
