Rimini: rushed to the defense of a young foreign tourist who was attacked, they in turn suffer violence. One arrest for the State Police.

The State Police arrested a man for the crime of resisting and injuring a public official.
Specifically, several reports came in that referred to a fight in the street between a man and a woman. In particular, it was reported that the man, by grabbing the woman, was trying to steal a child that the latter was holding in her arms.

Arriving at the scene of the report, near the Murri seafront, the officers noted the actual presence of the arguing couple and the newborn, in addition to the presence of numerous people who, in the meantime, had gathered nearby to defend the woman.

The man, at the sight of the State Police officers, visibly drunk and altered, began to swear, with incomprehensible phrases, towards the officers, until he violently attacked them with kicks and punches.
The officers, despite the violent physical aggression, managed to secure the woman and the newborn and, subsequently, with no small amount of difficulty, also to contain the man and place him in the service car to be taken to the police station to proceed with identification and the usual checks.

After investigations, it emerged that the subjects involved are a husband and wife and that the newborn, only four months old, is their daughter.

It was also learned that the couple was in Rimini for a holiday and that, after spending a day at the seaside, during which the man had consumed numerous alcoholic beverages, he insisted on holding the child in his arms.

However, when the wife refused, such a heated argument ensued that passers-by requested the intervention of the State Police and stopped to assist the woman.
It should be noted that the woman, who was fully informed of her abilities, did not intend to file a complaint regarding the incident.

The situation is still being monitored by the Police Headquarters. Given the above, the man, by order of the PM, was held in the Police Headquarters' holding cells, awaiting the direct trial scheduled for this morning.
