Rimini: in a few months they managed to collect numerous thefts with snatching. The two thieves arrested by the Police.
Two Peruvian citizens, investigated – under various titles – for being the alleged perpetrators of 7 incidents of snatch thefts and robberies committed in Rimini between May and July 2024.
The complex investigation, developed by the Flying Squad with the acquisition of dozens of statements from people informed of the facts, photographic recognitions, analysis of the images of the video surveillance systems and localization of suspects in the places where the crimes had been committed, allowed us to reconstruct the modus operandi of the two Peruvian citizens, who, taking advantage of the areas with a high tourist density, such as the Marina Centro area and the entire Rimini seafront, they used to attack their victims by surprise, tearing off their gold chains or other gold jewelry, and then managed to escape on their bicycle.
The Preliminary Investigations Judge, at the request of the Public Prosecutor, supported the investigative theory, recognising the dangerousness of the two suspects, noting how the two had committed several crimes in just under three months, with identical methods, since they are serial predators, who act in broad daylight, to the detriment of victims followed even for several kilometers with a perfect and meticulous study of the places and times in which to attack them.
Furthermore, one of the two suspects had already been arrested on August 30th following a violent robbery that had taken place the previous day against an eighty-eight-year-old from Rimini in the premises of his home. The Mobile Squad operators had immediately recognized the modus operandi of the two Peruvians, so much so that they had immediately started looking for the perpetrator of the crime, tracking him down after several hours while he was seeking hospitality from a fellow countryman.
Therefore, the man, who was already detained for the serious crime of August 29, the precautionary order has been notified directly at the Rimini prison.
The second suspect, however, he was wanted for several hours by the State Police, who, only thanks to the constant stalking of a person close to him, managed to track him down and arrest him in execution of the coercive measure.
The man was subsequently transferred to the Rimini prison, at the disposal of the proceeding Judicial Authority.
