Rimini: he attacks a man, snatches his bag and runs away, arrested by the State Police.

During the night of 17.06.2024, personnel from the Rimini State Police arrested a foreign citizen for the crime of robbery, resisting a public official and causing personal injury.

The man was also investigated while at liberty for the crime of receiving stolen goods.
Specifically, at approximately 02:30, the Operations Room sent a squad car crew to the Celle area, where a man reported having been robbed.
The police, who promptly arrived on site, identified the victim who reported having been violently deprived of her bag by a boy, of whom she provided a detailed description.

The victim claimed that, while he was waiting for a friend of his at the petrol station, a boy approached him who was trying to have a conversation. During the dialogue, the boy suddenly grabbed him by the neck and, in order not to attract attention, dragged him into a dark area of ​​the vending machine.

The victim, frightened, started screaming trying to free himself. After a brief scuffle, the boy snatched the bag from his hands and ran away.
The police, while looking for the reported person, saw a person trying to hide among the parked cars not far from the place where the incident had occurred. As they headed towards the subject, who fully corresponded to the description previously reported by the victim, he fled at the sight of them, trying to head towards the unlit canal of the Marecchia River.

After a short chase, the operators stopped the man who, in an attempt to free himself, kicked and punched the officers, who nevertheless secured him, still suffering personal injuries. The arrested person was found in possession of the applicant's stolen goods, as well as a credit card from the theft.
Following the events that occurred, the young man was arrested and taken to the Rimini prison.
