Rimini, attempts to kill a fellow countryman. Young man arrested by the State Police.

In the late afternoon of 07.07.2024, Rimini State Police personnel arrested a foreign citizen for the crime of attempted murder.

Specifically, at approximately 19:00 pm, a crew of the General Prevention and Public Aid Office's squad car intervened inside the public city park “Fabbri”, as a man who was doing gymnastics witnessed a violent fight between two foreign subjects. The witness reported that, following his intervention, he managed to block the violent action of the attacker, who was fleeing. The victim fell to the ground, had several deep wounds, inflicted by the attacker on the head, neck and arm, using a shard of glass from a bottle neck, waiting for help to arrive.

The officers who arrived on site spread the search for the attacker to all police stations in the area, thanks to the description provided by the witness and by the victim herself, who was conscious, and after a few tens of minutes they intercepted him a hundred meters away from the incident. The man appeared visibly agitated, with heavy sweating and with an evident still bleeding cut on the palm of his right hand, most likely procured in the use of the bottleneck used to stab the victim.

The operators, having heard the victim, to whom they were 50 stitches applied, reported that his attacker was an acquaintance with whom a quarrel had arisen, as the man demanded the sum of Euro 20 from the victim, compensation for work in the countryside implemented for the onion harvest. When he refused, the man smashed a glass bottle on the ground he started hitting him violently, screaming at him to kill him.

Following the events that occurred, the young man was arrested for the crime of attempted murder and held in the security rooms of the Police Headquarters, until this morning waiting for the translation at the prison.
