Rimini: They threw smoke bombs and firecrackers on the pitch causing a fire, 18 removal orders issued

The Rimini Police Headquarters has issued 18 DASpo (Prohibition of Access to SPORTS events) orders against Ultras fans of the US Pietracuta football team.

The facts date back to the meeting between the Novafeltria and Pietracuta teams of 21.04.2024, at the municipal stadium “Urbini e Casali”, located in Secchiano di Novafeltria (RN), valid for the Italian championship of excellence – Emilia Romagna – Group B. On that occasion, some of the ultras fans of the US Pietracuta football team, supported by some from Bellaria Calcio, were responsible for a series of serious disturbances at the sports facility.

More specifically, the members of the ultras group, a few minutes before the start of the football match, They showed up wearing hoods, with their faces covered by scarves and neck warmers and, evading the security checks at the entrance to the facility, they entered the playing field by passing through a gap, previously made, in the external fence network, and then head towards the stand occupied by Novafeltria fans.

There, right under the opposing stand, the fans began to rant and wave sticks and poles in defiance, throwing various objects onto the pitch and in the direction of the Novafeltria supporters, including firecrackers and smoke bombs. One of these it fell on the laundry box, located next to the grandstand, and, exploding, generated a fire which damaged the structure.

The Carabinieri of the Novafeltria Company intervened on the spot and moved the group away, and the referee was able to regularly give the starting whistle for the Alta Valmarecchia derby. Following the investigation, the Rimini Police Headquarters therefore eighteen DASPOs were issued against those responsible for the riots, lasting one year.
