Attack on Carabinieri in Fara in Sabina: 50-year-old arrested for threats and injuries

A man of foreign origins, 50 years old, he was arrested from the Carabinieri of the Fara in Sabina Station after having threatened and attacked the soldiers who intervened to quell a fight in the street. The episode occurred on a public street in the town centre of a municipality in Lower Sabina. During an ordinary territory control service, a patrol noticed two people who were arguing heatedly. The military intervened to restore calm, and succeeded.

However, suddenly, a third man, unconnected to the fight and in an evident state of alteration due to the intake of alcoholic beverages, he approached and cursed at one of the other two people, initially uttering offensive and discriminatory phrases towards him and then attempted to physically attack her. The men of the Carabinieri immediately intervened to hold him back and push him away but the man reacted by threatening and hitting one of the soldiers with pushes and kicks. Blocked with difficulty, he was immediately declared under arrest and taken to the barracks for further investigations. The soldier attacked had to instead seek medical attention for a wrist injury.

At the end of the ritual formalities, the interested party was also reported for the beatings and discriminatory comments made towards the other foreign citizen present and, in compliance with the provisions of the Magistrate on duty of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rieti, subjected to house arrest at his home located in another province.
