Poggio Mirteto: driving with a false license, reported

The Carabinieri of the Mobile Radio Unit of the Poggio Mirteto Company reported at large a man of non-EU origins, resident in the area and already known to the police, for driving with a counterfeit foreign license. The complaint was forwarded to the Judicial Authority following the investigations carried out a few days ago, in the very centre of Poggio Mirteto, by the operating military who, during a routine checkpoint, decided to stop a car considered suspicious.

During the activities, the driver of the vehicle appeared particularly agitated, further arousing the suspicions of the Carabinieri who thus decided to investigate him further. In doing so, the military ascertained that the foreign driving licence shown during the check was false and that the interested party – resident in Italy for some time and owner of the vehicle he was driving – was driving without ever having taken the driving test.

In addition to reporting the incident to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rieti, the Carabinieri then proceeded to immediately seize the false document and to administratively detain the vehicle being driven.
