Montopoli di Sabina (Rieti), driving with expired license and attacks the Carabinieri: 50-year-old arrested

A few days ago, in the late afternoon, a local fifty-year-old was noticed, by a Carabiniere free from duty, and he proceeded in his carin direction of the town of Montopoli di Sabina at high speed and zigzagging.

Subsequent investigations revealed that he had started driving despite having an expired license: document was therefore immediately withdrawn and the car temporarily entrusted to a warehouse.

The man was immediately declared under arrest and taken to his home where he stayed subjected to house arrest. Contextually it is been referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rieti, as well as reported to the local Prefecture, for refusing to submit to alcohol and drug tests.

The soldiers attacked were instead forced to seek medical treatment at the Continuity of Care Service of the ASL of Poggio Mirteto without, fortunately, injuries were found.

It is acknowledged, as usual, that the proceeding is still in the preliminary investigation phase and that any criminal liability will be assessed by the Judicial Authority.
