In recent days, the agents of the General Prevention and Public Aid Office of the Rieti Police Headquarters they arrested a man of 55 years for the crimes of mistreatment of cohabiting family members, aggravated personal injury and serious threats.

The man was already subjected to the precautionary measure of prohibition on approaching the wife and leaving the family home for events that occurred in the previous months. However, this measure had been revoked by the Judicial Authority a few days ago.

After a heated argument with wife, the man has it attacked, hitting her in the face with an object and throwing kicks and punches, causing her injuries fortunately not serious.

Attack on family members and police intervention

Not content, the man also turned his fury against the son and other family members who intervened in defense of the woman, hitting them with kicks and punches. Next, he grabbed a large kitchen knife and began chasing the relatives, forcing them to take refuge in a bedroom, from where they alerted the State Police by calling the emergency number 112.

When the officers arrived, some of the victims had managed to escape through the window, while inside the house the wife and daughter they were trying to defend themselves. The man, in fact, he was trying to break down the door of the room with a knife. Despite the violence of the attacker, the two women they managed to disarm him, while continuing to suffer beatings.

Arrest and transfer to prison
