Cittaducale (Rieti), steals a car in a supermarket parking lot: 35-year-old arrested

In the early afternoon of one of the past Sundays, in the hamlet of Santa Rufina, the Carabinieri of the Operational and Mobile Radio Unit of Cittaducale they arrested a thirty-five year old that, shortly before, he had stolen a car.

The man, already convicted, taking advantage of a moment of distraction from the owner of a parked Cherokee inside the parking area of ​​a local supermarket, he had stolen the vehicle and then fled at high speed.

Ithe owner of the vehicle, realizing what had happened, after informing the Police Force, helped by other motorists present, he immediately started looking for his vehicle who, shortly afterwards, was identified on the SS 4 Salaria, towards Cittaducale.

The thief, at the end of a short chase, near the hamlet of Santa Rufina, he was thus caught and forced to stop by the victim of the theft himself. Simultaneously, A patrol from the Carabinieri Radiomobile Unit arrived on site of Cittaducale who immediately blocked the man, preventing him from fleeing on foot.

He was therefore arrested for aggravated theft and, by order of the magistrate on duty of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rieti, subjected to house arrest at his home. Il the vehicle was instead returned to its rightful owner.
