Antrodoco (Rieti), the Carabinieri report a woman for having illegally withdrawn money from a relative's current account

The Carabinieri of the Antrodoco Station reported at liberty to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rieti a 62-year-old local woman, now investigated for the crime of improper use of payment documents other than cash.
The complaint was forwarded to the Judicial Authority at the end of an investigation started by the military of the Arma following a complaint filed by a 70-year-old, also resident in Antrodoco, who had reported an unauthorized withdrawal of money from his current account.

The investigations carried out by the Carabinieri, including the analysis of images captured by the cameras in use at the ATM from which the withdrawal was made, they made it possible to ascertain that the operation had actually been carried out by the complainant's mother-in-law.

In particular, the latter had accompanied the relative to the hospital in Rieti for a medical visit and, while the elderly man was in the waiting room, she had found the wallet that the latter had left in the car. Taking advantage of the fact that inside there was also the PIN code, written down on a piece of paper, the woman withdrew 500 Euros from the elderly man's current account without any authorization.

Having reconstructed the incident, the military reported the woman to the Rieti Prosecutor's Office and, having recovered the money, returned it to its rightful owner.
