Rionero in Vulture, 48-year-old arrested for drug dealing.

As part of their ongoing territorial control activities, aimed at preventing and combating all forms of illegality, the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Potenza are determinedly pursuing the fight against the phenomenon of drug dealing and the spread of narcotic substances.

Further confirmation came from the important result achieved in recent days in the Vulture Melfese area.

The Carabinieri of the Melfi Company, in particular those of the Rionero in Vulture Station with the collaboration of the Tito Dog Unit, at the end of a specific investigative activity carried out a targeted search which led to the arrest of a 48-year-old local man, already known to the police.

At the man's home, the military found approximately 180 grams of marijuana, 35 grams of marijuana seeds, material for packaging the drug and for growing the plants, as well as almost 50.000 euros in cash, believed to be the probable proceeds of drug dealing.

After the formal procedures, the man was placed under house arrest by order of the Potenza Judicial Authority, while the drugs and money were seized.

Following the validation hearing, the GIP at the Court of Potenza ordered the suspect, for whom, it should be recalled, the constitutionally guaranteed principle of presumption of innocence applies until a final conviction, the precautionary measure of house arrest with the application of an electronic bracelet.

The brilliant operation conducted by the men of the Benemerita, as well as a demonstration of the perfect synergy and coordination of all the branches of the Force, represents a further confirmation of the valuable work carried out by the Carabinieri Stations, fundamental units of the Institution as well as true sentinels of the State on the territory to protect the Laws and communities.
