Potenza: The Carabinieri arrested 2 people caught with over 1 kg of drugs

Last Wednesday night, the Carabinieri of the Operations Department of the Provincial Command of Potenza, engaged in a specific service, have noticed autilitarian travel at high speed along the SS658 near Filiano.

Once stopped, the military personnel of the Arma proceeded to Occupant Control, identifying the two people on board both turned out to be from San Fele, with the driver just of age and the passenger underage, and visibly worried.

A careful inspection of the car's interior then revealed an envelope that the passenger was trying to hide between his legs and which was found to contain a good 1 kilo of hashish, divided into 10 loaves, and 12,5 grams of marijuana.

The two were then accompanied to the Carabinieri offices in Via Pretoria where, at the end of the formal procedures, they were declared in a state of arrest and escorted to their respective homes under detention, as ordered by the Potenza Judicial Authority.

Following the validation hearing by the respective GIP offices, at driver the precautionary measure has been ordered for the arrest, while in relation to the lower was arranged immediate release, without applying any measures.

This latest operational result testifies to the constant and profitable counteraction carried out by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Potenza to protect the legality and safety of the community, within the context of a broader and more synergic commitment to the prevention and repression of all forms of crime.
