Potenza, Carabinieri checks: 6 reported for drugs, one complaint for drunk driving and 2 stolen vehicles found.

Last weekend, the operations of the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Potenza continued without interruption through targeted extraordinary checks of the territory.

The commitment of the military of the Arma has been focused on monitoring road traffic as well as on the surveillance of urban and rural areas of the centers most affected by predatory crimes, without neglecting targeted services for the prevention and repression of crimes against property and related to drugs.

The forces in the field included the Potenza Carabinieri Company which, with the men of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus, proceeded to control of vehicles with their drivers and passengers passing through previously identified key points of the road network.

Numerous fines issued for violations of the highway code including the one elevated to a special vehicle (hearse) caught in the exercise of its functions without insurance coverage and inspection for months already.

Dozens of breathalyzer tests were carried out on drivers, one of whom was caught driving with a blood alcohol level higher than that permitted by law. The young man, whose driving license was withdrawn, will now have to answer to the Potenza Judicial Authority, called to examine his position.

The personal and vehicular searches allowed the discovery of approximately 15 grams of hashish, leading to the reporting of a foreign minor and five Italians to the Prefecture of Potenza, one of them a minor and three barely adults. This demonstrates how important the continuation of activities to combat the spread of narcotic substances is; a phenomenon that knows no boundaries of ethnicity, culture or age.

The surveillance of the rural areas in the Municipalities of the Province allowed the Carabinieri of the Carabinieri Station of Genzano di Lucania, led by Chief Marshal Alessio Pepe, to find two vehicles hidden inside an abandoned farmhouse in the countryside near the town which, following a check, turned out to have been stolen in Puglia.

After the ritual investigations carried out by the specialized personnel of the Operational Unit of the Carabinieri Company of Venosa, one vehicle was seized and the other returned to its rightful owner. Investigations are still underway to reconstruct the facts and identify the perpetrators.

Potenza, controlli dei Carabinieri: 6 i segnalati per stupefacenti, una denuncia per guida in stato di ebbrezza e rinvenuti 2 mezzi rubati.
