Potenza: 35-year-old foreigner caught with heroin and crack, arrested by the Carabinieri.

The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Potenza continue to fight drug dealing without interruption.

Over the weekend, in the capital, a patrol of the Radiomobile Unit of the Potenza Company, while passing between the San Carlo hospital and the adjacent university campus, noticed the suspicious behavior of a foreigner on foot who, as soon as he crossed paths with the service car, accelerated his pace in an attempt to hastily move away from the place.

The checks were carried out immediately by the military personnel who, given that the conditions were met, carried out a personal search of the man which allowed them to find 20 grams of heroin, divided into 25 doses, as well as 7 grams of crack, in 9 doses, and the cash sum of €uro 185 in banknotes of various denominations, believed to be probable proceeds of drug dealing.

Taken to the Carabinieri offices in Via Pretoria, the man, identified as a 35-year-old Nigerian, was declared under arrest and confined in the Potenza prison as ordered by the Potenza Judicial Authority, while the drugs and money were seized.

At the end of the validation hearing, the GIP of the Court of Potenza confirmed the precautionary measure of detention in prison against him for which, it is recalled, the presumption of innocence applies until a final sentence of conviction.
