Carabinieri raid in Marsicovetere: 4 arrests and 112 grams of cocaine seized

The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Potenza continue their efforts to combat drug trafficking and dealing., within the scope of territorial control services aimed at protecting public order and safety. In the afternoon of Tuesday September 16, Carabinieri of the Viggiano Company they conducted a significant operation in the Val d'Agri, culminating in the Municipality of marsicovetere the arrest of four individuals, seriously suspected of the crimes of transportation, transfer and possession of narcotic substances in competition.

The attention of the military was focused on a 46-year-old resident of Naples, a stranger to the local context. Following him discreetly, they saw him meet a 30-year-old from the place, who invited him to go to a nearby house. The investigations confirmed a supply of cocaine between the man of Neapolitan origins and a local man and woman present in the house. Following personal and home searches, the Carabinieri found and seized:

• 112 grams of cocaine, divided into five envelopes,

• 950 euros in cash, considered to be the proceeds of the illegal activity,

• packaging and concealment material of the drug.

All the material was placed under evidence seizure and made available to theJudicial authority. At the end of the formalities, the suspects were arrested and associated at the Potenza prison. At the validation hearing at the Court of Potenza, Preliminary Investigation Judge validated the arrests by applying precautionary measures:

• three men remanded in custody,

• house arrest for the woman.

This significant operational achievement, the fruit of careful investigative work and constant surveillance of the area, represents a tangible demonstration of the commitment of the Carabinieri of the Potenza Provincial Command to protecting the law and citizens' safety.
